Kristi Hardy: A Champion for Kuna’s Families and Schools
In the heart of Kuna, Idaho, Kristina Hardy has spent years building a legacy—not just as a small business owner, but as a dedicated advocate for education, parental rights, and community development. Her passion for helping others has made her a well-known figure in the town, where she works tirelessly to support families, students, and local initiatives.
A Lifelong Commitment to Kuna
Kristi and her husband, Ryan, moved to Kuna 15 years ago, drawn to the strong sense of community and small-town values. Over the years, they have raised four children here, three adult daughters and a son, while also becoming deeply involved in the schools, local organizations, and city-wide efforts to improve education and family life.
Her commitment to Kuna isn’t just personal—it’s active. She has served on multiple school advisory committees, worked alongside parents and educators, and even stepped into leadership roles to ensure that the voices of families are heard when it comes to important policy decisions. In 2022, she founded Parents for Policy Change, a group dedicated to preserving traditional family values in education and strengthening the relationship between parents and school officials.
“When we come together as parents and community members, we have the power to create real change,” Kristi says. “Our kids deserve the very best, and I want to be part of the solutions that make that happen.”
A Voice for Education and Student Success
Kristi’s involvement in Kuna’s schools has been extensive. She played a crucial role in the effort to return secondary students to full-time learning after COVID-19 disruptions, leading a parent action group that pushed for in-person education options. Her advocacy proved successful, with 80% of middle school families choosing full-time learning when given the option.
Beyond policy, she has been hands-on in supporting student activities. When she saw a need for a swim team in Kuna, she helped establish the Kuna High School Swim Team, which is now thriving with over 40 athletes in its third season. She has also held leadership positions in school booster clubs, lacrosse boards, and other extracurricular programs that give students opportunities to grow and succeed.
Serving the Community Through Business and Volunteerism
While much of her work is rooted in advocacy, Kristi is also a small business owner who brings that same sense of service to her company, Cinderella Dress Rentals. Located on Main Street, her boutique provides affordable, modest formalwear for young women, helping families access beautiful dresses without financial strain.
However, for Kristi, business has always been about more than just sales. “I love helping young women feel confident and beautiful while staying true to their values,” she says. “But more than that, I love being part of a community that lifts each other up.”
Her volunteer work extends far beyond her shop doors. From serving as a Cub Scout leader to participating in local HOA boards and the Kuna School District Capital Planning Task Force, Kristi has been a constant presence in shaping Kuna’s future. Her contributions have not gone unnoticed—she was named Kuna High School’s Volunteer of the Year in 2021-22 and received the Kuna School District Kuna Way Award in June 2022.
Looking Ahead: A Vision for Kuna’s Future
Kristi’s work in Kuna is far from over. As she continues advocating for stronger school policies, parental involvement, and community-based solutions, she remains a driving force behind positive change. Whether it’s helping students access education, ensuring parents have a say in school decisions, or fostering a sense of connection among families, Kristi Hardy is proving that one person’s dedication can impact an entire community.
“Kuna is more than just where I live,” she says. “It’s my home, my family, and my passion. I will always fight for the people who make this town special.”
